    Frontenac Provincial Park

    A quick one night visit to the park for some autumn camping. The only two nice days of this week and next. The park ranger suggested we stay at site 15 one of the new single sites installed this year. It was perfect. A 6 km hike to the site with new tenting platform, bear box, and privy.

    Great weather today for a paddle around the Brockville islands. For October 12 the water was warm enough to go for a swim. Felt like a summers day.

  • Jessup’s Fall

    Jessup’s Fall

    The club outing was a trip on the Salmon River but arriving at the launch in Lefaivre the winds were too high with whitecaps everywhere. We decided to switch to Jessup’s Falls and paddled from the launch towards the Ottawa river. Sheltered from the winds we had a very nice paddle out to the Ottawa river and back.

    Beautiful day paddling on the Ottawa river starting out from Braeside beach. Arriving at the launch spot the river was covered in mist and the Quebec shore could not be seen. The sun burned off the mist and the river was a like a mirror
